Know which music you own, and who has each part.
catsheet is a catalogue for a school or youth orchestra's sheet music library. It records every score and edition you own, every part, and every part you lend to a player — so after a concert you can see exactly what has not come back.
The problem it solves
Parts go home with players before every concert, and not all of them come back. When the next term's programme is chosen, nobody is sure which edition the library owns, how many copies of the second violin part there are, or who had the missing clarinet part last. catsheet keeps that record in one place.
What it does
A catalogue of every score
Title, composer, arranger, publisher, edition or catalogue number, ensemble and shelf. Know which edition the library owns before you order another.
Loans recorded by part
List the parts each score has and how many copies of each. Lend a part to a player with a due date, and mark it returned when it comes back.
A missing parts report
Every part not in the library, grouped by score, with overdue parts marked. Print it before the concert and tick parts off as they return.
Reminders to borrowers
One click opens a ready-written reminder to the player in your own email. With an account, you also get a weekly email listing what is overdue.
Search by composer
Search by composer, title, arranger or edition, or pick a composer from the list to see everything of theirs you own.
How it works
- Add your scores, and list the parts each one has.
- When a player takes a part home, record the loan and the date it is due back.
- After the concert, open the missing parts report to see what has not come back, and send reminders.
Who it is for
Music departments in schools, and youth orchestras, bands and choirs — anywhere one person looks after a library of sheet music that many players borrow from.
